Linear Welding

When you construct sheet metal parts, often the sheet of flat metal must be rolled or reformed to be used for its intended purpose.

 

As a result of the repetitive, straight path of the weld, this process is ideal for linear welding.

 

Once held in place, the part is welded with precision and accuracy in a straight line, allowing the part to retain its new shape.

 

Positioners

Arcrite Automation designs and manufactures our positioning systems in-house.  As a result, we are able to offer multiple positioners that can be completely customized for your part size, weight and complexity.

 

Implementing part positioners allows a robot or hard automated system to become significantly more flexible, essentially using arms to hold and manipulate the part while additional arm(s) are used to weld with precision. What’s more, Arcrite Automation has the ability to provide single and multiple axis positioners.

 

Our part positioners are recommended for any part with complex weld path geometry.

Tooling

An automated manufacturing process is only as good as its tooling. Poorly designed tooling can result in higher costs, rejected parts, increased cycle times, robotic damage and even employee injury.

 

For example, the heating and cooling of welded parts often results in weld distortion. The warping of the metal is a result of the expansion and contraction of the weld area.  To combat weld distortion, Arcrite provides preventative and predictive tooling.
